Caroline Lekstrom as "Shakira"

Finalist in the New Zealand "Stars In Their Eyes 2008".

Caroline Lekstrom started her singing career as a 15 year old, participating in the Swedish version of Stars In Their Eyes (Sikta mot stjärnorna) as Swedish singer Emilia with the song Big, Big World.

After winning the first show she ended up on a 5th place in the Grande finale which was broadcasted live on Swedish TV4.

The following years she worked both as an impersonator of Emilia as well as doing shows, musicals and various singing contests.

A Very Sought After Performer...

In between productions Caroline has had gigs at private parties, business dinners, weddings and funerals.

Along with studio work in her hometown of Norrköping, she has also performed at charity concerts for animal shelters and singing contests on local TV.

She also auditioned for “Fame Factory” which she got to final audition in Stockholm.

Now A New Zealand Resident...

In 2005 Caroline moved to New Zealand with her partner and has become a New Zealand resident.

Still pursuing a singing career she sang in cover bands and ended up as a back up singer for one of the busiest bands around, Auckland based Union.

Caroline did her kiwi TV début on Homai Te Pakipaki on Maori TV followed by the game show The Singing Bee and finally in April 2008 performing as Shakira on the first heat of "Stars In Their Eyes".
